World AIDS Day

1 December 2025

World AIDS Day, observed on 1 December each year, is dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection. It is common to hold memorials to honour persons who have died from HIV/AIDS on this day.

It serves as a reminder of the importance of upholding human rights and addressing issues related to social justice and equality.

World Leprosy Day

30 January 2026

World Leprosy Day is observed internationally on 30 January or its nearest Sunday to raise public awareness of leprosy, also known as Hansen's Disease. This day was chosen in commemoration of the death of Gandhi, the leader of India, who understood the importance of leprosy.

World Cancer Day 2026

4 February

World Cancer Day (WCD) is observed to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment. This health awareness day is led by the Union for International Cancer Control, a global consortium of more than 470 cancer-fighting organisations in over 120 countries.
